Pipe smokers in all the disciplines, non-scientific namely, and we are rightly or wrongly supposed to be — shall I say, derive some deep satisfaction from the — whatever pleasure one could call it, what the pipe gives us, because it’s supposed to be a thinking man’s art. ((Blogosphere, Intelligence Of Nature, Real Musicians, Source Consciousness)) Pipe smoking is not like cigarette smoking. You just take a puff, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah and you’re done with the cigarette. It involves a lot of patience, the kind of patience you’re going to need if you’re going to ever get married because you have to clean the pipe, reload it, empty it, pipes can be frustrating. Take it from me. And yes, I have sometimes felt that if I had to choose between some pleasures, which I don’t have to name, and smoking my pipe, without hesitation, I will keep my pipe.
