Well, he was a professor there in New York and many other places. But at any rate, Norman was a great, great scholar. I think he was the greatest Old Testament scholar that this country has ever produced. ((Different Colored Inks)) And he was a radical Marxist, and he wrote this absolutely marvelous book on ancient Israel and the revolution affected by ancient Israel, which introduced political, economic, and social revolution into the world. ((Inventing A New World, New Man, Romantic Reactionary)) And that’s what the Bible is all about. And he was just, I think, the most powerful intellectually, but nevertheless there was an extraordinary large number of people committed to that then.
