Well, Santa Cruz sort of has a permanent counter cultural ethos. ((1960s, Epidemic, Texan Subculture)) That’s kind of a nice way of saying a bunch of kids who can’t grow up, kind of Puer Aeternus is a way of life, or childhood stretching out about 50 years, kind of — or teenagerhood — teenhood, 50 years. ((Cookie Cutter, Earth Armor, Pubic Hair, Romantic Reactionary, Shoulders Of Giants)) So, it takes a while. And it’s a funny town, it’s kind of an amalgam of a lot of different elements. Certainly an artistic element, a counter cultural element, a spiritual aspect, a strong surfer aspect, and obviously a tourist town, it’s a beach town. So, there’s a lot of — it’s a pretty eclectic kind of place.
