I’ve learned now, even though I’m only 34, I often feel like I’ve been doing this for a long time now, and I think you realize it’s not — it’s about the long game, it’s the long — your life is, it’s a huge arc of work, and I think when I was at art college, I was obsessed with making one thing, this one painting, one drawing, one thing that would be defining. And then you realize that that stuff just can happen without your control, and the most important thing is just to keep going every day on a day-to-dayness of it all, otherwise you become crippled by sort of what you’re trying to do in the bigger picture.
