When I was a young man, there were actually radical politicians. Could you even imagine that today? Could you even imagine it? For example, in 1948, I worked for George Wallace when George Wallace ran for President, and Wallace was a radical.1 As a matter of fact, I was in West Virginia — and I’m willing to speak about this frankly today. We actually had members of the communist party directing the Wallace campaign in West Virginia. I worked with them, because I was committed to Wallace, but who could imagine that today? I mean, it’s all just totally changed.
