See in most theater, most realistic theater, you try to get the audience to follow the intention of what’s being said. No listen, in this speech, we want the audience to realize that you hate the person that you’re talking about. I’m less interested in that. I’m interested in a more poetic sense, in the way the language is operating. ((Language In Which You Dream, Longing For Itself, Punning)) And if you have the actor use an accent, it slows up the identification with the intentions of the speaker, and you’re listening more to the way language is operating.
