I think as an artist, you’re always an in-between person in some ways. I always feel like those are the spaces that I’m interested in. It’s like the in-between is almost like a sponge. Sometimes you’re soaking. And so, I think for the first six years in India, all I did was just soak. And then suddenly one day you think god, that’s awful, and now you need to spill the water, it all has to come out somewhere. And so, I think there’s this constant cathartic sort of process of filling up, it’s almost like a vessel and emptying out again, and you have to decide what is it that’s important. So, for me, it was like the ’90s, the late ’90s. But then it took really another 10 years for it to become even marginally sophisticated I think.
